Monday July 19th, 2010

We started our day boarding the "Start Me Up" sport fishing boat for a four hour trip out of the Lahaina harbor. At 5:45 it was about 70 degrees and a gorgeous morning. Here's a picture of the sun rising behind the mountain on Maui:

(Having fun on the boat)

After about 2 hours into the trip, the other couple on the boat reeled in a 25-30 pound wahoo, or what the locals call "ono,"  fish! We weren't as lucky but the trip was still fun. It was worth it to see someone reel in a big game fish! We were hoping for a marlin but to no avail didn't catch the big one :)

(What a sweet couple! They were here for their 25th anniversary!)

(Close up of the ono. They have beautiful blue vertical stripes all the way down their bodies but lose the color quickly after they die. These guys also have big teeth too!)

(Camron and I posing as if we caught this fish!)

The great thing about getting up early is that there is lots of time to do other things during the day! After our fishing expidition, we headed to the very first, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" restaurant. The reputation that this resturaunt has is well deserved. We shared a "Kobe Burger" and it was absolutely delicious! Here's a good picture to capture it's true beauty:

(That baby has lettuce, onion, tomato, bacon, avocado, cheese, and kobe beef!)

(Us and our fruity drinks)

After lunch we headed back to the hotel for a "nap." Well, let's just say we must have been really tired because 4 hours later we both woke up! At least we still had time to snorkel so we headed to our favorite spot, "Kanalua Bay" and swam with our turtle friends again. No pictures this time. We did, however get some pictures for our Christmas present to you this year: A bikini babe/hunk calendar! Take a look:

(Trying to look sexy :)

(Look at that hunk of burning love!)

I think we'll go with another idea for Christmas presents :)

Tomorrow? We're taking the Road to Hana. The road, comprised of sharp turns, one lane highways, and cliff side roads, has also been named, "Divorce Alley." Thank goodness Cam and I will be going on a paid tour :) This way we can both see the beautiful sights in the tropical rainforest instead of one of us missing it while driving white knuckled!
