A Fun Filled Valentine Weekend

A few weeks ago I was listening to the morning radio and heard about a Valentine event at Wildlife Safari. Cam and I thought it sounded fun so we signed up and went to the park yesterday. It was surprisingly entertaining and well worth the money spent!

Each girl was given a rose and as the couples entered the building and there was a cute little bluegrass band playing music in the corner. The only awkward moment occurred when the hosts informed us that more people than anticipated had pre-registered and we had to sit at a table with another couple. Cam and I looked around the room for about a minute before selecting the most "normal" looking couple and sat down with them. Fortunately, they were really nice people and enjoyed talking with them.

(Our dinner spread)

The meal, catered by Carlos' Mexican Restaurant, started with a garden salad and was followed by a main course of steak/chicken, mixed vegetables, and a roll. To end with guests were served champagne and gourmet chocolates. Guests were invited to a video showing in their amphitheatre followed by an opportunity to get a photo with a cheetah. Overall, the night was really fun and we will most likely go again next year :)

(The beautiful ambassador cheetah. I really wanted to pet her but only 2 trainers are allowed to touch her. She was very happy and her purr was eerily loud)

Newly Edited Blog!

Whew! Considering Cam and I are both fairly intelligent, it sure took us long time to edit this blog for our wedding. We got engaged back in September (I think) and now were just 5 short months away from the big day! We're both so excited and have a significant number of things taken care of including: a location, photography, videography, dress, and most of the decorations.

Our good friend Angie took our engagement photos over the weekend and we are expecting about 200 "save the date" postcards in the mail which will be sent off shortly! Our next task? Addresses! We'll most likely have to search for addresses from family members as neither of us has an address book, let alone time to write any "snail" mail.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Cheers :)
